PVH

This slide is part of a report my fellow classmates, Taniya and Teresa, worked on with me about PVH, Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation and their supply chain practices. I wanted to point out this slide in particular because it illustrates how innovative and ethical PVH has become within their supply chain. Many large corporations, cough cough H&M, are not only unethical in their labor sourcing, but also covering this up with green washing tactics. PVH on the other hand has promoted human rights within their supply chain not only by creating their own code, but by hiring people to check up on factories to ensure they are practicing these codes.

PVH has become a leader for sustainability and human rights, their raw materials are more sustainable and do not involve leather, etc. but their packaging is also becoming recyclable. On top of this they have joined numerous programs and organizations to continue to promote the tactics they use and learn how to continue on the path of sustainability. 

Overall this project really opened my eyes to the sustainability within companies that I had previously unknown. I think this is due to the greenwashing of other organizations overshadowing the natural progression of sustainability within large companies. From my professor I had heard about PVH and their sustainability, but until I started this project I had no idea how far this went. After completing this project, I would love to do more research into other companies to understand more about their supply chain process to compare.
